Carbs vs. Fat- A Look at Coconut Oil

In the ever-continuing battle to overcome the "fat is bad" mentality, this post goes into a little more depth about what fat and carbs break down to in our bodies. And the answer is not a simple one is bad, one is good. However, whenever I explain to them how fat works, what carbs (a complex sugar) break down to, and give a basic synopsis of how the body creates energy, and it becomes clear to them that all calories are not created equal. Eureka!

The linked article does go into detail about the relationship in the body between different types of fats, the role of cholesterol, and what this "fat is bad" thing is really doing.
