Are supplements worth the money?

It's mind boggling. Search dietary supplements and you'll find more companies promising a panacea for everything from obesity to erectile dysfunction. So how do you weed out what will actually help with what will just waste money you could be spending on whole, organic foods?

Nutritional defeciencies do occur, Vitamin D for us north-bound citizens, iron/B12/EPA-DHA in vegans or vegetarians, calcium for our lactose-intolerant western diet friends. And those are very important to regulate via a doctor's prescription. However, most, if not all dietary defeciencies are avoidable and fixable through a healthy, veggie filled diet. Look up a common deficiency and it will always give you a bio-available whole-food option to amend the lack. Don't take my word for it- go see for yourself.

So rather than waste money on pills that will go right through you with one stop to the WC, opt for whole-food, healthy choices that will keep you filled, healthy, and with money in your pocket.
